Championing a Net Zero Nation

We’re delighted to announce that Scott Direct has successfully completed year two on the Net Zero Nation Accelerator pathway.

The Accelerator programme, run by Net Zero Nation, is designed to support businesses of all sizes and sectors to demonstrate their commitment through skills and action plans which make real, consistent and compliant progress to net zero. It is a multi-year journey that companies embark on to embed net zero practices by systematically engaging every pillar of the business to help drive a net zero culture throughout all operations and departments.

Rob Sayles Managing Director at Scott Direct, said: “As a business, we’re really inspired by what the Net Zero Accelerator programme can offer us in terms of continuous improvement, training and awareness for the team and a framework that will help us to make significant progress with our carbon reduction initiatives.

“Having now completed our second year on the programme, we are now making significant progress towards our targets and creating real and tangible value in the business.”

Participation in the programme means we are committed to producing monthly carbon accounts and a certified carbon reduction plan which will show our clearly defined pathway to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Net Zero Nation works alongside us to ensure and validate that we are adhering to the greenhouse gas (GHG) protocol, Science Based Targets pathway (SBT) and are fully aligned with UK government SECR reporting and PPN/0621 public sector standards.

Gavin Tweedie, Co-founder and CEO at Net Zero Nation, said: “Our aim at Net Zero Nation is to present businesses with the commercial opportunities and confidence to implement smarter carbon practices in carbon measurement and carbon removal today so that we still have a world tomorrow."

“The issue of climate change is huge, and it affects everyone. Working together, we can achieve meaningful, positive change.”
