Makita's new DUC353Z sets a new standards for cordless chainsaws and matches the logging performance of similar size petrol powered saws. The DUC353Z saw offers the many values of cordless machines which have become recognised throughout the industry: no emissions; very quiet operation; total control and high levels of efficiency and safety as standard.

With its variable speed trigger it means that no pull starting is required. It also makes the cordless chainsaw extremely easy to use for the user and improves overall control during cutting thanks to its single hand activation.

The hard working Makita DUC353Z will become the chainsaw of choice for many professional arborists and forestry workers. This brushless chainsaw features tool-less chain tension adjustment, metal spike bar and variable speed trigger switch and will cut through the toughest tasks with ease. Trials have shown that two fully charged 5.0Ah batteries will deliver over 60 cuts through 5 inch diameter timber, at least seven linear metres of cutting per charge.

The DUC353Z also boasts a 200ml chain oil tank with adjustable flow through the pump with metal gears to the automatic chain lube system and has a capacity display window. This automatic system reduces maintenance, optimises functionality, and increases life-span.

For additional safety features, the main power system is automatically turned off if the operator does not grip the lock-off lever 10 seconds after the machine is switched on. Also, the same happens if the operator does not squeeze the trigger switch within one minute after switch-on, even if the lock-off lever is gripped.

The Makita DUC353Z Chainsaw also features XPT - eXtreme Protection Technology - designed for outdoor applications or harsh environments, it provides increased protection for the circuitry from dust and dripping water.

Powered by two Makita 18V Li-ion batteries the chainsaw is supplied with 36V of power to the brushless drive system. The machine can be used with different capacity batteries together (for example, 4.0Ah BL1840B and 3.0Ah BL1830B, or fully charged BL1830B and 70% charged BL1830B), however the machine will stop when the battery with less capacity is empty.
